2017 Day of Caring

On October 13, 2017, you can join more than 1,200 volunteers and enjoy the opportunity to learn about the needs in our community while working together to combat them.  Individuals are matched with local non-profit agencies and schools for a variety of service projects.

Last year, 1,250 volunteers successfully completed 87 projects at 58 agencies and schools across Escambia County.  Together, volunteers donated nearly 7,000 hours, a value of $162,000 in free labor ($23.56 Independent Sector's valuation of volunteer labor per hour).  In effect, it would take an individual every hour of each day for almost an entire year to have the same impact that these caring volunteers accomplished in just one day.
